Back Bay :: Boston Dating Advisor

Back Bay is at the heart of Boston, a place where shopping, culture, education, and business come together to create the rhythm for the city. It's no surprise that some of the city's romantic hot spots are located here, where they're easily accessible to young professionals and visitors to the city. While sophisticated and sleek, these restaurants and bars are also welcoming, and you'll find some of the best food on the East Coast.

Minibar
Located on the bottom level of the Copley Square Hotel, Minibar is a chic lounge where the buttoned up come to let their hair down after work hours. For professionals working in the Back Bay area, this is one of the best happy hour spots to start off a date or to get acquainted over drinks. We recommend the lychee martini and especially their Kobe beef sliders -- you'll likely be craving them the next day, too!

Douzo
In Japanese, "Douzo" means "Please come in," and you'll feel immediately welcome into the sanctuary that is Douzo sushi bar and restaurant. This sleek, sophisticated space is made up of dark wood against light fabrics, and the food mirrors these juxtapositions. The food at Douzo is always fresh, the presentation artistic, and the ambiance just right. Quiet enough for a conversation; lively enough to bring warmth.

Bistro du Midi
The fact that Bistro du Midi is just off of the Public Gardens is reason alone to call it one of the most romantic restaurants in Boston. Top that with excellent French fair and an elegant ambiance, and you've scored the equivalent of a romantic touchdown. The open air dining room downstairs and the cozy formal dining area upstairs both boast views of the greenery across the way. Voted best French restaurant in Boston by the Boston Globe, the food here is fresh, bold, and mouth watering, but the establishment never veers toward stuffy -- just like Provencal itself.

Top of the Hub
Atop the Prudential Center sits the Top of the Hub, which is the best spot to get sweeping views of Boston. It's the highest restaurant in Boston, at the 52nd story of the tower. Jazz plays in the background, the wine list is long, and the West Coast/Asian flair to the food is a welcome change. Whether you're celebrating a long relationship or looking to impress someone new, the Top of the Hub strikes the right chord. Tip: ask for a table by the window when making reservations.
